Only a few years back, Jiban Baral used to be an active member of the Nepal Student Union (NSU). Often, he would be seen holding the NSU flag and leading groups of student activists. Over the years, however, Baral has carved himself a new identity. Nepal will be seeing its first BarCamp, Barcamp Kathmandu (bcktm09) on 8th August 2009 (Saturday) @ Yalamaya Kendra, Patandhoka, Lalitpur. The theme for bcktm09 is "Innovation for the Development of Nepal." We plan to focus on unique and innovative ideas and initiatives from various fields with a vision to progress Nepal in their respective frontiers. The much awaited release of the first ever documentary made by Nepal Infopark on the prestigious award winner (Magsasay 2007) Dr. Mahabir Pun from Nepal took place on October 3, 2008. The screening was formally held in the hall of Directions Exhibition and Convention Center in United World Trade Center, Tripureswore. The screening took place in the August presence of Dr. Pun Himself.
